MINUE returned as a better actor after 4 years of break .

In July 29, MBC Monday and Tuesday drama ‘Partners for Justice Season2’ ended with favorable responses. MINUE acted as a character who had a multiple personality disorder after getting abused in the childhood. Noh made a remarkable comeback to the drama world by acting a kind doctor Chul Jang and a murderer Dr.K.

In the recent interview with Herald POP at a café in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, MINUE shared his feelings and his comments about Season 3. He said “Since I returned as an actor after a long break, I was really nervous before the first shooting. Other actors cared about me a lot and our director made a great character. I really feel sad about finishing this drama. There will be more shocking and surprising stories in the next season. Please wait for Season 3”.

MINUE first joined the drama in ‘Partners for Justice Season 2’ and worked together with actors from Season 1. Although there must have been a pressure for joining from the second season, MINUE tried his best in preparing and expressing for the character.

“I actually felt a lot of pressure. At first, other actors told me that Chul Jang is a significant character in the drama. So, I prepared for the character thoroughly and I always thought about my lines before going to sleep and after waking up. I had a great stress for acting as Chul Jang. This character has three personalities and he even gets possessed by his mother. In the drama, I had to express completely different characters with different characteristics in one drama. Since I had to hide Chul Jang’s multiple personality disorder in the beginning, I told others that Chul Jang is a cold-hearted doctor during the production presentation. Also, I tried to focus on Chul Jang before Dr.K actually appeared in the later episode. I think I got a lot of stress for focusing on different characters in my head”.

When MINUE was acting, he shot good scenes in harmony with director Dochul Noh. MINUE also commented that Chul Jang’s tear in the mirror scene that shocked viewers was not originally intended.

“I was not supposed to shed tears in the mirror scene other scenes about Dr.K and Chul Jang. However, director Noh was very strict when I acted for Chul Jang’s different personality and he looked at me in tensed and quiet atmosphere. So, I shed a tear because I was too tired from expressing such intense emotions of Chul Jang. In the mirror scene, I was really in to the character and I started shedding tears. Director Noh liked the scene and he intentionally asked me to cry in certain scenes.

‘Partners for Justice Season 2’ was a new challenge for MINUE. He never acted as such a strong character. MINUE commented that “There was a time when I had to choose between a handsome character and Chul Jang in ‘Partners for Justice’. I asked other directors and actors about what would be better for me and all of them said I should do ‘Partners for Justice’. They also told me that it would be a great idea to show how I changed after finishing the military service. Although I didn’t realize my changes, others told me that I changed a lot after my experience in the army. Choosing ‘Partners for Justice’ was a great choice and director Noh encouraged me ‘Chul Jang might be your best character. You are doing great and keep up the good work until the end’. So, I had a pleasant time while shooting the drama. Noh also added that “I never regret my choice on choosing this drama”.
