[TV Report= Reporter Hyojeong Son] MINUE from MBC ‘Partners for Justice Season 2’ said ‘Doctor K’ is the best character he ever acted.

In the recent interview for MBC ‘Partners for Justice Season 2’ at the café in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, he shared his thoughts about comments on his acting. In the drama, he expressed characters with multiple personality disorder by acting as a cold-hearted doctor Chul Jang and a serial murderer Doctor K. The viewers favorably commented on his acting saying that he broke away from his handsome image and demonstrated his better acting skills.

MINUE said he knew Chul Jang had a multiple personality disorder from the beginning. He said “Before Chul Jang got revealed as Doctor K, I had to act Chul Jang and Doctor K as completely different two characters. After others found out Chul Jang was actually Doctor K, I felt more comfortable in acting Chul Jang and Doctor K”. He also commented that “It was hard to hide that the two characters are actually one character. In the production presentation, I was asked ‘Are you similar to your character’ and I couldn’t say I resemble Chul Jang and Doctor K”. 

He also shared his efforts for acting. He said “Chul Jang is a character who works at an emergency center and he is a doctor who should be skilled at giving injections. I referred to Myungmin Kim and Sunkyun Lee. I also personally visited emergency centers, watched actual scenes, and practiced for giving injections. Also, since Doctor K and Chul Jang have numerous different features, I tried to act naturally. I had to make two characters look natural without exaggeration”.

MINUE’s cold impression makes him look like a cold-hearted person. Actors for ‘Partners for Justice Season 2’ also didn’t approach in the beginning because of his cold impression. MINUE emphasized that he is different from Doctor K in many ways. He explained “I am a person who cannot say ‘No’ even if I hate it. When I act as a cold or rude character, I get satisfied for acting such characters. While I and Chul Jang share common features, Doctor K is completely different. I approached Doctor K by acting the true innermost feelings. That’s why I could talk down more easily and strangle others in the drama”
