[Sports Chosun.com Reporter Anji Jeong] Hoppipolla became the first winner for JTBC’s global band organizing project 'Super Band'.  

In the final round of JTBC ‘Super Band’ aired on July 12, the final teams competed together for the final winner based on the scores from 1st and 2nd round (35%), early online voting score (5%), and live national text message vote score (60%).  

Hoppipolla sang ‘One More Light (Original Singer: Linkin Park)’ on the final stage with their unique and beautiful emotions and Hoppipolla became the winner with a final score of 48,339. 

LUCY performed their own piece titled ‘Flare’ with splendid festival mood. LUCY took the second place with a final score of 40,924. Also, Purple Rain demonstrated the essence of art rock with ‘Old and Wise (Original Singer : Alan Parsons Project)’ and ranked the third place with score of 39,052. Lastly, Mone performed their own piece titled ‘IDC’ and the audiences got excited for Mone’s flowing energy. Money placed the fourth place with the final score of 38,456.  

While Hoppipolla’s score for 1st and 2nd rounds was in the second place, Hoppipolla successfully surpassed LUCY with the live final round and took the throne. As a winner, Hoppipolla will be getting prize money of 100 million won and SUV. Also, all team members shed tears of joy and celebrated the birth of the first super band. 

Hoppipolla members shared their thoughts and said “I would like to share this pleasure with my family. I tried my best to show good music to audiences. I thank all for active supports”. 

Members of Aftermoon and People On The Bridge that ranked fifth and sixth place in the 1^st and 2^nd rounds of the finals, and participants who left ‘Super Band’ in previous rounds showed up as audiences and enjoyed the final stage together.

They cheered the finalists with a round of applause. Then, ‘Super Band’ participants finished up the 9 months of  ‘Super Band’ by taking photos together after all finalists finished their stage. 

In the final round’s text message voting, more than 250,000 text messages were sent. On that day, winning team Hoppipolla was searched the most on portals.

Also, ‘Super Band’, LUCY, Purple Rain, Mone, and names of other participants were listed in trending topics showing the public’s enthusiastic supports toward JTBC’s ‘Super Band’.
